The three core numbers

Numerology reduces dates and names to single digits (or the master numbers 11, 22 and 33). Your Life Path comes from adding the digits of your birth date; your Destiny (or Expression) number comes from every letter of your full name; and your Soul number comes from just the vowels. Together they're the classic trio numerology readings start from.

How the reduction works

Each letter maps to a number 1–9 in the Pythagorean system, and the totals are summed and reduced until a single digit remains — unless they land on 11, 22 or 33, which are kept as master numbers. This tool does all of that instantly for any date and name.

A bit of history and fun

Assigning meaning to numbers is an ancient idea found across many cultures. Modern numerology is best enjoyed as a curiosity and a conversation starter rather than a guide to decisions.

Just for fun: this is entertainment, not a scientific method.

Frequently asked questions

Which name should I use?

Traditionally the full birth name. Try variations to see how the Destiny and Soul numbers change.

What are master numbers?

11, 22 and 33 are kept without reducing, as they're considered special in numerology.

What is a numerology life path number?

A single digit derived by adding up the digits of your birth date and reducing them. Numerology assigns each number a set of traits and meanings.

How is a life path number calculated?

Add all the digits of your full birth date, then keep adding the digits of the result until you reach a single number (or a master number like 11 or 22).

Is numerology scientifically proven?

No. Numerology is a belief system, not science — there's no evidence numbers influence personality or destiny. Many people enjoy it as a fun reflection tool.
